Our Time Away...

Well, we returned home last night from our long weekend getaway to Hot Springs, Arkansas. We had a great time. Actually when we got there we even discovered that they had wireless Internet but since we had planned on not having it, we gave ourselves limits and enjoyed our time together!

The first thing we had to do was go to the pool with Kirstyn and let her show off her new skills that she learned last week at swimming lessons! She is doing great and we are very proud of her. The other thing on the top of my list was getting a Godmother (whole wheat crust, pepperoni, beef, mushrooms, ripe olives, and topped with provolone cheese) pizza for dinner from Rod's Pizza Cellar. You see, I planned my points for the day, saved up all of my flex points and planned to eat some pizza! We used to stop at Rod's every summer on our way home from Brookhill Ranch Camp and I would eat this pizza. If you are within 100 miles of this restaurant at any point in your life, you HAVE to stop and eat a piece of this pizza!
We also took some time to go to the Mid America Science Museum (I got us all in for free too with my Fort Worth Museum Membership....gotta love those reciprocal memberships!).
Gotta get the classic family vacation picture!
Both of the kids loved all of the mirrors that were around the museum!
Kirstyn was so impressed with the x-ray of HER tummy that she wanted Pappy to get his checked too. Yup...He had food moving through his tummy too. She is at such a fun age. It was so much fun to watch her learn so much and enjoy all of the little displays and activities.
This is what happens when I put David in charge of taking pictures! This was the only picture of Kirstyn and I getting our hair stood on end with static electricity.
I loved this picture of James and David in front of the water. Right now James is calling ALL water "bath". It is too funny. He would go to the window in the condo and point to the lake and scream "BATH". Also, check out the giant fish that Kirstyn and DeeDee fed.
The next day we drove around Hot Springs and drove up the mountain and went up in the mountain tower to look around. The kids really enjoyed the elevator ride the most but they both enjoyed looking around and being up so high.
I just loved this picture of Pappy and James. This is what they do together...they love to butt heads! James is a very loving but very aggressive little boy. His idea of a love pat might bloody your lip but he meant it very loving. I also loved this picture of David and Kirstyn. Such an image of their relationship. She really is a Daddy's Girl!
We had a great time and I am glad that we were able to get away for a few days. We did a lot of walking and I stayed on plan with my eating (even with my indulgences at Rod's)! I went to spinning this morning and the fabulous trainer Nancy that teaches the class told me I was making major progress because today for the first time I wasn't limited by my breathing and heart rate, but by my muscles! I worked hard this morning in class and I am looking forward to my Body Step class tomorrow. Well, now off to catch up on my blog reading...
