Night Night

The other night when driving home from the gym I noticed all of the colors in the sky. I of course did not have my camera when I needed it. As soon as I got home, I grabbed my camera and jogged to the end of the street to snap a picture before all of the colors were gone for the night. I guess I don't usually notice the sky at dusk because we are inside the house busy with bath and bedtime routine. This view reminded me that I need to slow down more often and take in more of nature. I just wish nature wasn't so hard to notice in the big city...

Oh and while we are on the subject of bedtime..... James is sleeping in his own bed! Yes, I know that he is 16 months old but he is my baby and well, he didn't like his bed (and did I mention that he is my baby?). So, he has always slept in his playpen in the living room (he likes to fall asleep watching me blog). He sleeps so heavily that I could even vacuum during naptime so I didn't really see it as a problem. If we tried to lay him in his bed, even asleep, he acted as if we had thrown him into a bucket of ice water, so we just let him sleep peacefully in his playpen (because he is my baby). Anyway, every now and then we David would try his bed and he would freak out and we I would put him back down stairs. Well, finally last week we tried his bed and he didn't seem to mind as long as he had his "Ricky" blanket buddy and his pacifier. So, I am proud to announce that James has been sleeping in his own bed now for over two weeks. I can't believe how big he is getting...

So, now tell me, what do you or did you let your "baby" get away with?

Oh yeah...I'm all for doing whatever you have to do to get them to sleep!!! Wow...even sleeping through vacuuming in the same room? Amazing!

GORGEOUS sunset photo and good reminder to all of us to slow down and enjoy the beauty around us!

Your sky photo is so pretty. The great thing about the sky is it is always changing. Your "baby" is adorable. How cute he is with his blanket buddy. That's a good sleep if he doesn't wake through the vacuuming. Or maybe a quiet vacuum? LOL.

Man, that is gorgeous! With the way my house is situated, I really can't get a good view of the sunset - makes me sad.

hey, is James your baby?! Ha! I say whatever helps them sleep, go for it!

It amazes me how much I miss of nature that I'd see all the time before now that I'm busy inside with the kids all the time.

Yay for your little guy!!!

I let Finny eat too many arrowroot cookies. And I let her get up sometimes at night when she wakes up with teething pain. But I'm trying not to baby her too much, ya know? Youngest, only girl, with special needs...if that isn't a recipe for a spoilt child, I'm not sure what is.

Oh, my baby gets away with everything. She still has a pacifier and she is over 2! We need to take it away, but oh, it is going to be torture, for me!

Murder, why do you ask?!

Kidding of course but the first one really does get the short end of the stick don't they?

He is super cute in that bed, I want to pinch his cheeks!

My baby (14 1/2 months) gets away with still getting up several times a night. Mommy is TIRED and hasn't had a full night's sleep since sometime during the third trimester of being pregnant with her. Haha! But I get up and nurse her for a few minutes until she's back to sleep, then I groggily stumble back to bed. Sigh...the things we do for our little babies.

I like how you left out the part that you were out of the house when I tried it. He cried for a while and then went to sleep. You wouldn't have let him cry that long if you were there...Love you honey!
