Texas Temps

This post is for my Canadian friends!

Last week we were having record high temperatures and heat advisories. For those of you who don't know, a 'heat advisory' is our weather man's way of saying you should probably just stay inside with your kids and your animals because Hell is not even this hot!

I have proof... I got in my car around 2:30 one afternoon and the temperature read 113'F! Friends, that is HOT and the a/c has to work over time to keep you from dying never mind trying to keep you cool.

Well this week has been a major relief. Even my a/c unit sent me a thank you card! Seriously, it is loving that it gets to come on, do its job, and turn off for an occasional rest. It has been misting/sprinkling for two days now and yesterday around noon my car said it was only 78'F outside. Still VERY humid but what a relief!

So tell me, what is the weather like where you live?

I had an outdoor dancing competetion years ago in Fort Worth, and the stage was so hot it blistered our feet through our leather dance shoes....that Texas heat is unreal...... yay for AC!!
It is a mild 23 celsius here, comfy for this pregnant gal! Lucky for me since the AC in my van just broke...may the weather gods be good to me this next week!

I have my AC set at about 23 celcius right now and it doesn't come on that much. But many people here don't even have AC...in fact, it's kinda considered a luxury. :) This is the first home we lived in with it since we got married almost 11 years ago. But then, I suppose that when it's -40...our furnace is running pretty much none stop too.

here in the midwest, it's been one of the mildest, coolest summers...
kinda feels like it's not summer at all.

So jealous about the 78. You know how it is down here, but there hasn't been any relief! Last weekend the heat index was 132! That's just madness. The actual temp was 111.

It's actually been quite pleasant here most days although the humidity can be horrid. It rains here A LOT in the afternoons so that helps to keep things a little cooler. Being fairly close the gulf has it's benefits I guess...

I'd heard it was blasted hot there. Glad y'all are getting some relief!

It's been really nice here this summer, which is unusal. I'm not complaining though;)

I'm still waiting for summer. We get it in spurts up here... a day here, a day there... yeah.

GAH! I would melt, seriously melt into a puddle. You should have sent us some of that heat, as you know, we needed it!

Glad you getting relief, enjoy it!

Hasn't this week been awesome? I think tomorrow we are officially back to the 100s again, but the break has been nice - we've actually been able to spend some time outside for a change!

Today is gorgeous! It's overcast and the temps are in the low 70s instead of the nineties like we've been having! It's heaven!
